💻 Definition — Softphone App

The Softphone App from TelHarbor UCaaS is the company softphone with unified communications: calls, contacts, chat, video, collaboration, SMS/WhatsApp/Email and history. It runs on Windows and macOS (Macs with an Apple processor). It connects over an encrypted VPN to the PBX, registers your SIP extension and enables the services you have active.

1 · Installation (getting started)

The user downloads the softphone from a secure site, activates it (→ UCaaS) and connects over an encrypted VPN. UCaaS links it to the PBX (calls) and the other services (chat, video, SMS, WhatsApp, email…).

Fail-closed rule: without a validated VPN, the softphone does not start — access is only through the company VPN.

2 · Daily use

After the first activation, each day you just open the app: the encrypted VPN connects, UCaaS registers your extension and you are online with the PBX and services.

No need to activate again: the unique link is used only once; after that you just open the app.

📘 Explanation (step by step)

  1. Installation: download the app for your computer (Windows or macOS with an Apple processor) and install it; on Windows it goes to C:\Program Files\TelHarbor\UCaaS Desktop.
  2. Activation and registration (1 click): open your unique, secure link (https://phone.telharbor.com/a/…); the app is configured automatically, brings up the encrypted VPN and registers your SIP extension — with no manual setup.
  3. Daily use: after the first activation, each day just open the app — the VPN connects and your SIP extension registers automatically, no need to activate again.
  4. Calls: dial from the keypad or contacts; answer and hang up from the app.
  5. Transfers: transfer a call blind (direct) or attended (consulting first).
  6. Queues: join or leave your queues and manage your presence (available, busy, on call).
  7. Features: from the app menu you get Phone, Contacts, Chat, Video, Collaboration, WhatsApp, SMS, Email, History, Support and Statistics, all in one place.

Support: from the Support tab in the app you can request help and authorize remote support.

📧 1 · The activation email

TelHarbor emails you your extension and a unique link to activate the app.

    Who it comes from

    It arrives from TelHarbor UCaaS to your mailbox. If you do not see it, check the junk folder.

    The subject

    It carries your extension, so you can spot it among other emails.

    Your details

    Company, extension and SIP user your phone will register with.

    Activation link

    It is personal and single use: open it on the computer where you will use the phone.

    Installer download

    A direct link to the installer; the activation page offers them too.

    When it expires

    The link expires after 30 days. If it does, ask TelHarbor for a new one.

    Recommendations

    Do not share the link and use it only on your authorized computer.

    The page instruction: download, install and then press the activation button.

    The green button. Use it after installing the app.

    While the app is not installed it says: install TelHarbor UCaaS Desktop and then press Activate.

When the page finds the app on your computer, it enables activation.

The red notice appears when the app is not installed or not running.

    Download the installer for your computer and install it.

Past the deadline, the page no longer shows your details.

    Only the header is left: no details and no buttons.

    «activation_token_expired» means the link has expired. Ask TelHarbor for a new one and another email will arrive.

Each link activates one computer once.
